Habemus Papam! Pope Leo XIV
鈥51黑料不打烊 and Mount Angel Seminary rejoice at the election of our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. The Lord is faithful to his promises. On the rock of Peter鈥檚 faith the Lord builds his Church, and Peter鈥檚 faith is kept alive in his successor. We feel a special grace to think that the Lord has chosen someone from the Church in the United States to be the successor of Peter. During some of my recent work in Rome, I have had the privilege of several substantial conversations with the new Pope when he was Cardinal Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops.
We pray for Pope Leo, and rejoice to hear the apostolic proclamation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God!鈥
